Spring Awakening

Spring has sprung! In my neck of the woods; however, we are blanketed in freshly fallen snow. I was so deflated to see the progress the sun has made over the last month fade away, but now my anticipation is that much greater. Isn’t the anticipation half the fun?

Oh how I long for spring – awakening of my soul.

Worry and Fear – Asking for Help

Early on in my life, I would divulge all my worries to those closest to me. Hoping that they would provide advice and calm my fears. Instead of searching within myself for the answers, I would heavily depend on others to guide me. Soon, vocalizing my fears and troubles became the norm for every conversation I had.

It was not until I began to consciously fight my demons, that I realized not all my worries need to be spoken. My dear friends and family did not need to be burdened with my problems – they had their own. Not only was I perpetuating my fears by vocalizing them, but I had become a negative and depressing individual, offering little to my closest relationships. Continue reading
